Support Programs

The BioEM 2022 Local Organizing Committee (LOC) offers two types of “Support Programs” to those who have submitted abstracts to BioEM 2022.

Support Program (1): “Student Support”

The BioEM 2022 LOC offers support to a limited-number of students by waiving their registration fees. This support is intended to partially offset participation costs to attend the conference.

To be eligible for this support, you must:
・ be a student,
・ be the first author of your abstract,
・ present your paper at BioEM 2022 (either “physically at the venue in Nagoya” or “online”),
・ be a member of BioEM,
・ submit a letter from your university or advisor confirming your student status, and
・ have your registration for BioEM 2022, as well as the payment of the registration fee, finished by May 16, 2022.

(You will have the registration fee refunded if your application for this support is accepted.)

To apply for this support program, you should fill out the following application form and email it to “secretariat<at>bioem2022.org” (Change <at> to “@ (at sign)”). You should input “BioEM 2022: Application for Support Program (1)” for your email title. The application deadline for this support is May 16, 2022.

The number of the recipients of this support is limited and determined based on the availability of our funds. All the applications for this support will be carefully reviewed by the committees of BioEM 2022. Then, the applicants will receive an email by the middle of June 2022, with the acceptance/rejection notification for this support.

If your application for this support is accepted, you will have the registration fee refunded after the conference.

Support Program (2): “Support for Scientists from Specified Countries”

The BioEM 2022 LOC offers support to a limited-number of scientists from the countries EXCEPT G20 or OECD members,  by waiving their registration fees. This support is intended to partially offset participation costs to attend the conference.

G20 Countries:
Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Republic of Korea, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkey, the United Kingdom, the United States, and the European Union.

OECD Member Countries:
Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Czech Republic, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Republic of Korea, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, the United Kingdom, the United States.

To be eligible for this support, you must:
・ be the first author of your abstract,

・ be from a country/region EXCEPT G20 or OECD member countries,
・ present your paper at BioEM 2022 (either “physically at the venue in Nagoya” or “online”),
・ be a member of BioEM, and
・ have your registration for BioEM 2022, as well as the payment of the registration fee, finished by May 16, 2022.

The selection will be made based on the relative income level of the country (average income by country) of each applicant. The abstract rating will be also considered.

All the applications for this support will be carefully reviewed by the committees of BioEM 2022. Then, the applicants will receive an email by the middle of June 2022, with the acceptance/rejection notification for this support.

If your application for this support is accepted, you will have the registration fee refunded after the conference.

*Please note that you cannot apply for both Support Program (1) and (2). Basically, students are not eligible to apply for Support Program (2), but encouraged to apply for Support Program (1).
